Giardia lamblia causes widespread disease in people and animals worldwide, infecting approximately 33% of the population of developing countries and between 0.5%-1.0% of the US population annually. My laboratory uses a wide array of molecular, biochemical, cellular, and biophysical approaches to understand how Giardia regulates gene expression and establishes infection in the host. The lab is a dynamic group, featuring graduate and undergraduate students and participating in collaborations with Chemistry and Physics professors on campus.
